"Many are the afflictions of the just;"
Ps 33:20-21
Ps 33:20-21
Many are the afflictions of the just; but out of them all will the Lord deliver them. The Lord keepeth all their bones, not one of them shall be broken.
Ps 33:2
I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall be always in my mouth.
Glory Be to the Father…
Many are the afflictions of the just; but out of them all will the Lord deliver them. The Lord keepeth all their bones, not one of them shall be broken.
Ps 33:20-21
Multæ tribulatiónes justórum, et de his ómnibus liberávit eos Dóminus: Dóminus custódit ómnia ossa eórum: unum ex his non conterétur.
Ps 33:2
Benedícam Dóminum in omni témpore: semper laus ejus in ore meo.
Glória Patri…
Multæ tribulatiónes justórum, et de his ómnibus liberávit eos Dóminus: Dóminus custódit ómnia ossa eórum: unum ex his non conterétur.
Grant O Lord, we pray, that through the intercession of thy Holy Martyrs Vitus, Modestus and Crescentia, thy Church be not high-minded, but grow in that humility which is pleasing to thee, so that despising evil, she may practice whatever is good with unbounded charity
Through our Lord…

Lesson from the book of Wisdom
Wis 3:1-8
The souls of the just are in the hands of God, and no torment of death shall touch them. They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was judged an affliction, and their going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace. For if before men, indeed, they be punished, yet is their hope full of immortality; chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed, because God tried them and found them worthy of Himself. As gold in the furnace, He proved them, and as sacrificial offerings He took them to Himself. In the time of their visitation they shall shine, and shall dart about as sparks through stubble; they shall judge nations and rule over peoples, and the Lord shall be their King forever.
Léctio libri Sapiéntiæ
Sap 3:1-8
Ps 149:5; 149:1
The saints shall rejoice in glory: they shall be joyful in their beds.
℣. Sing ye to the Lord a new canticle: let his praise be in the church of the saints.
Ps 144:10-11
Let thy saints bless thee. They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom: and shall tell of thy power: Allelúja.
Ps 149:5; 149:1
Exsultábunt Sancti in glória: lætabúntur in cubílibus suis.
℣. Cantáte Dómino cánticum novum: laus ejus in ecclésia sanctórum.
Allelúja, allelúja.
Ps 144:10-11
Sancti tui, Dómine, benedícent te: glóriam regni tui dicent. Allelúja.
Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke
Luke 10:16-20
He that heareth you, heareth me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth me; and he that despiseth me, despiseth him that sent me. And the seventy-two returned with joy, saying: Lord, the devils also are subject to us in thy name. And he said to them: I saw Satan like lightning falling from heaven. Behold, I have given you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and upon all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall hurt you. But yet rejoice not in this, that spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice in this, that your names are written in heaven.
Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Lucam
Luc 10:16-20
In illo témpore: Dixit Jesus discípulis suis: Qui vos audit, me audit: et qui vos spernit, me spernit.
Ps 67:36
God is wonderful in His Saints; the God of Israel is He Who gives power and strength to His people. Blessed be God! Alleluia.
Ps 67:36
Mirábilis Deus in Sanctis suis: Deus Israël, ipse dabit virtútem et fortitúdinem plebi suæ: benedíctus Deus, allelúja.
As the gifts, we offer in honor of thy Saints, O Lord, bear witness to the glory of thy divine power; so may they win for us the benefits of thy salvation.
Through our Lord…
Sicut glóriam divínæ poténtiæ múnera pro Sanctis obláta testántur: sic nobis efféctum, Dómine, tuæ salvatiónis impéndant.

Common
It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:
Communis
Wis 3:1-2; 3:3
But the souls of the just are in the hand of God, and the torment of death shall not touch them. In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die: but they are in peace.
Sap 3:1-2; 3:3
We, who have been filled with thy solemn blessing, ask, O Lord, that, through the intercession of thy holy Martyrs Vitus, Modestus and Crescentia, this healing sacrament may benefit both our bodies and our souls.
Through our Lord…
