Lesson from the letter of St. Paul the Apostle to Titus
Titus 3:4-7
Dearly beloved: When the goodness and kindness of God our Saviour appeared, then not by reason of good works that we did ourselves, but according to His mercy, He saved us through the bath of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit; Whom He has abundantly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Saviour, in order that, justified by His grace, we may be heirs in the hope of life everlasting, in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Titum
Tit 3:4-7
Caríssime: Appáruit benígnitas et humánitas Salvatóris nostri Dei: non ex opéribus justítiæ, quæ fécimus nos, sed secúndum suam misericórdiam salvos nos fecit, per lavácrum regeneratiónis et renovatiónis Spíritus Sancti, quem effúdit in nos abúnde per Jesum Christum, Salvatórem nostrum: ut, justificáti grátia ipsíus, herédes simus secúndum spem vitæ ætérnæ: in Christo Jesu, Dómino nostro.
Ps 44:3, 2
Fairer in beauty are you than the sons of men; grace is poured out upon your lips.
℣. My heart overflows with a goodly theme; as I sing my ode to the King, my tongue is nimble as the pen of a skillful scribe. Alleluia, alleluia.
℣. After childbirth, you still remained an inviolate virgin: O Mother of God, intercede for us. Alleluia.
Ps 44:3; 44:2
Speciósus forma præ fíliis hóminum: diffúsa est grátia in lábiis tuis.
℣. Eructávit cor meum verbum bonum: dico ego ópera mea Regi: lingua mea cálamus scribæ velóciter scribéntis. Allelúja, allelúja.
℣. Post partum, Virgo, invioláta permansísti: Dei Génetrix, intercéde pro nobis. Allelúja.
Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke
Luke 2:15-20
At that time, the shepherds were saying to one another, Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us. So they went with haste, and they found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in the manger. And when they had seen, they understood what had been told them concerning this Child. And all who heard marveled at the things told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept in mind all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, even as it was spoken to them.
Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Lucam
Luc 2:15-20
You are happy, O holy Virgin Mary, and most worthy of all high praise; for out of you has risen the sun of justice, Christ our God.
Felix namque es, sacra Virgo María, et omni laude digníssima: quia ex te ortus est sol justítiæ, Christus, Deus noster.
Through Your mercy, O Lord, and by the intercession of blessed Mary, ever Virgin, the Mother of Your only-begotten Son, may this offering profit us for prosperity and peace, now and forevermore.

Blessed Virgin
It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God: and that we should praise and bless, and proclaim Thee, in the veneration of the Blessed Mary, ever-Virgin: Who also conceived Thine only-begotten Son by the overshadowing of the Holy Ghost, and the glory of her virginity still abiding, gave forth to the world the everlasting Light, Jesus Christ our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominations worship it, and the Powers stand in awe. The Heavens and the heavenly hosts together with the blessed Seraphim in triumphant chorus unite to celebrate it. Together with these we entreat Thee that Thou mayest bid our voices also to be admitted while we say with lowly praise:
Blessed is the womb of the Virgin Mary, which bore the Son of the eternal Father. (Alleluja.)
Beáta víscera Maríæ Vírginis, quæ portavérunt ætérni Patris Fílium. (Allelúja.)
May this Communion, O Lord, cleanse us from sin and, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, make us sharers of Your heavenly healing.
Through the same Christ our Lord…
Hæc nos commúnio, Dómine, purget a crímine: et, intercedénte beáta Vírgine Dei Genetríce María, cœléstis remédii fáciat esse consórtes.
